Patricia's Story

Life I have three daughters, two of whom are married. Sherry lives in Delaware with her husband Steve. Denise lives in Illinois with her husband Brian. The youngest daughter, Kimberly will graduate from high school in June 2005. I have four wonderful grandchildren. The youngest, Emily Rose was born on December 20, 2003. She is too far away from Grammy! Joshua, Rebecca and Sarah live close enough to visit with Grammy at least once a week. I also have 5 step-children. My step-daughter Janet is more like a daughter to me than a step-daugher. She has two great children, who are among nine step-grandchildren. Jack and I have been married for over ten years now. Jack retired when the Ames Department store closed. I work for Harvest Community Bank. We hope that in a few years we will both be able to take off and do what we want when we want. Does life ever allow that? I love working in the yard with my flowers and shrubs. My step-daughter and oldest daughter have drawn me into their latest hobby, scrapbooking. Janet sells Creative Memories. Sherry sells Longaberger baskets. We look forward to a week at the Jersey shore each year. ...Expand for more
Workplace My career in banking began in high school when Mrs. Saletra sent me to Penns Grove National Bank on the work program. I was hired at the bank the week that I graduated. After 23 years at PGNB, the bank closed. I took several months off, but soon found myself working at The Bank in Woodbury. It was during that time that I met my second husband, Jack. Once we were married, I decided to try retirement. That lasted almost a year. Then a phone call came asking me to help out for a few months at First Home Savings while one of the girls went out on maternity leave. The few months turned into a few years. I again found myself retiring, or so I thought. When a call came from Harvest Community Bank, I again took on the chanllenge and am still there. I have been promoted to Vice President working in the Financing/Accounting Department and also performing most of the Human Resource duties at the bank. Although I have learned that life doesn't always work out as you plan, I hope to be at Harvest Community Bank for another 10 years and then retire with many years left to enjoy the grandbabies! My biggest joy in life is those grandbabies!
