Patt's Story
I graduated in 1963, married and moved to Lompoc, California. We moved back to Philadelphia in 1964. Had six children, 4 girls and 2 boys. Got a certificate in Human Services, took some college. I got divorced. I met the love of my life, Glen, in 1985 and had another child. We have been married ever since. We have been through many ups and downs and have grown stronger through them all. We are both Christians and I believe that is what kept us from being a victim of the second marriage syndrome. We lost one son, Jimmy,at age 14, by electrocution when we lived in Shenandoah, but have the peace of knowing that he is with Jesus, in heaven. We have 11 children between us. He had four and I had six when we married. Now we are in the golden years of our lives, our children have married and given us 21 grandchildren, 9 girls, 21 boys and 2 great grandchildren, both girls. What a blessing God has given us. Three of our sons served in the military, two presently are in. Now with our empty nest, we are enjoying the freedom, with our 13 year old kitty. evotionals I do for the internet. I like to use the bad things in my life to help other people. My field of study was in this area until I compared the Bible to psychology, and found the Bible tells a better way. I am a committed Christian, (and a Jew by adoption), and love telling how God saved me and changed me and how he sustains me through many trials. I grew closer to God when my son died. I know that he is in heaven. Life is hard, but God is good. They didn't have a category for my real favorite music which is Christian, praise, hymns and even contemporary Christian. I homeschooled my two youngest daughters, Laura and Rachel, and did an in depth study of the holocaust, which culminated in a visit to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. It was something I will never forget, my dad's friend,Art, a Jewish man, had been one of those who liberated Daschau. He shook his fist at God and was angry about it until the day he died. One of my greatest desires is to go to Israel. I have a great love for the Jewish people, even more as my faith is a continuation of religion. I am grateful for the things I have learned through their history, which has given me a better understanding. Thanks for looking. I look forward to making friends.
