Patrick's Story

Hello guys and gals, I've stepped into the 21st century, I mean pushed. I can up-date alittle of whats been going on. So here is my story thus far, I dont think I need to remind anyone who I was from high school, if my name doesnt ring a bell, chances are you didnt know me. But i'm not dead yet and it's never to late to start. I am now a Childrens Author with my first book coming out soon. Stay tune for details...I call Vancouver, Washington my home now and have been for over 20 years. I will never move back to Arizona. EVER! There is a reason they call this place God's country, it's beautiful out here. I remember as a kid looking out my bedroom window and promised myself that one day when I look out my window I will see TREES. Lots and lots of trees! I love seeing the change of seasons, being able to hike Mt. St. Helens, and seeing many many differant color houses, I noticed the last time I was out in Arizona, all the houses are brown or gray. You notice silly stuff like that, and I love the RAIN! We wont see the sun for about 10 months of the winter at all, and thats good enough for me! Not that I'm knocking Arizona, it's great if you like to bake 24-7 but I always hated the heat and never really cared for the desert life...I think it's life? Arizona is beautiful dont get me wrong, but seriously you people have got to dump that Republican Governer. Really? All that aside, I never got married but according to the beautuful state of Washington, after living with someone for over 20 years? Yeah, your married. For those who remember me as the kid who loved to draw, mostly in Math class durring a test. Art has always been a passion and continues to be. I have done some freelance work from designing retail logo's to seeing my work up in neon above a Pet store in Beaverton, Oregon. So you can kind of figure what kind of work I've been in. Yeah a big rig engine core specialist is'nt what I would of guessed on either. God had other plans for me however and I got injured at my job. Being off work some, I took up a pencil again. This time, I wrote.( Thank you Mrs. Willson in 7th hour for my creative-ness by the way.) Growing up I used to write and draw my own children's books put together of notebook binders. Funny because I still hav...Expand for more
e some work with me to this day. As I was off work I picked up a story that I had wrote over 20 years ago and re-wrote it. Now for those who dont know, my writing has won awards here and in Europe, and you guys are more than welcome to go to Poetry.com for starters and put in my name, Parick Acosta. There you can read some of those that got me poet of the year on more than a few occations. My writings are inspirational as is my faith. I just happen to have a strong faith in God as many of you do. I do not consider myself born again, I wouldnt put my mother threw that for a secound time. I just know where I stand on faith, and it cant be moved. I have a story to tell in a Childrens novel as I mentioned before, I have been blessed with reciving a Publishing contract. I'm still in shock about the whole deal and it's still hard to realize I have a publisher! My book is called, ''Gabriel of Noah's Ark'' and production on it has begune.YAY! I have taken the world's holy books, The Christian Bible, the Jewish Torah, and the Muslim Qur'an and pulled from them, the story of Noah's Ark like you never heard it before. I have done much research on these books and respect them all. Forget everything you ever knew about the Story of Noah's Ark and set sail on a adventure of Biblical porportions...Yes this is my spill for my book. Support me by buying a copy when it comes out. I will keep you all posted! Website to follow soon. Buy a copy for you, your kids and grandkids? Yikes! Where did that time go. I still have family out there in Phoenix and Goodyear, and visit when time permits, I have always belivied that, '' you dont stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.'' life is wonderful guys, seriously. I thank you much for checking out my profile. Even if you dont know me, say Hi anyway, I was friendly then, why change now? I'm very polical and have volenteered with kids on Enviromental conservation. Living out here where on any given day, you can see raccoons or an eagle flying over head, you see so much of nature all around. It's easyer out here to hug a tree, than it was to hug a cactus. God bless, and Peace be on everyone! P.S. You may have noticed some misspelling, but thats what my editor is for now.
