Patrick's Story
Life
Here is my story. I was born in NJ on the Jersey Shore, then we lived in the UP of MI, then in NJ again, then in Grand Haven, MI, then we settled in Spring Lake, MI when I was 4-1/2. I attended Spring Lake schools K-12 (go Lakers!), starting in Mrs. DeJager's Kindergarten class and ending in 12th grade in Mrs. Edgyd's Government class in 1987. I then attended Michigan State University (go Spartans!) from September 1987 to June 1991, where I received a BS in Civil Engineering. met at MSU, joined me in CA in 1993. We married in 1995 in MI and then moved to Raleigh, NC, where I attended graduate school at North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!). I received my MS in Civil Engineering in December 1996. Then we moved back to CA in the summer of 1997 and I went back to work at CalTrans. We had our daughter Annabel in CA in 1998. In the summer of 2000, I took a job with MDOT, and we moved back to the Lansing area in MI. Our son Alex was born here in MI in 2002. I miss CA a ton, but that's life. I hope all my fellow SL 1987 graduates are doing well.
