Patrick (Buddy)'s Story
I have not much to tell. Grew up in Sydney Mines, attended Sydney Mines High. Joined the Canadian Army in 1963 . Joined as a Private. retired as a Captain in 1997, after 34 Years. Attended Queens University at night while in the Military, and our military schools, Cdn Forcres School of Management, School of Administration and Logistics, Officers Traing School,etc,etc,etc I eventually ended up with the equivalent of of BCom and CMA. Served many Finance positions across Canada (from Victoria to Halifax), eight years in Europe, and one year in Namiibia (SW Africa).. Retired and opened an Accounting/Consuting/ISO/Audit firm. . Director of Finance for Corps of Commissionaires Southern Alberta for 5 years. Resigned to promote my company Oryx Management Services Ltd. In 2001 went to Bosnia with Atco Frontec as Finance Manager for the Balkans Broject, Unfortunately, had to have open-heart surgery, and subsequently retired. Had a minor stroke and retired from Calgary to Penticton, to be closer to my sons. Now completely recovered. Lovin' the Oakanagen- eight months of summer, and travelling when it's not summer. Married to my wife, Anne, for 43 years...she's from South Wales...still can't get the Cape Breton humour. Now that I've told...what about all you?
