Patrick's Story

Started out in jefferson School in Lyndhurst. Was there for a few years. I remember one teacher, Mrs Perillo or something like that smashed my head into the desk for some reason and smacked me in the face in the second grade I was hyper back then and the teachers had little tolerence back then. Gee that was fun.. "Hey Mrs Perillo... thanks for the memories.. yeah sure... Miss Perta was considered the mean teacher but she was actually a very nice teacher and not as bad as we thought. I enjoyed her class. I wonder if anyone remembers the time we had a slide show one day in class. It was after the summer break and the teachers had gone to Hawaii for vacation togather and took all kinds of pictures to bring back and show us. We thought it was so cool and one day the teachers had all the kids form 3 classes togather in ONE ROOM. that was a lot of kids i'm telling ya. Well the slide show starts and yeah yeah trees, coconuts and sand big deal hawaii shits and fire dancers and then all of a sudden on the screen apprears this picture of all of the teachers NAKED on the hotel bed, nothing dirty just lounging around but NAKED!!! all you heard in the class room was WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOO and the teachers turned so RED FACED man they must have been so embarressed. let me see It was Miss perta, Mrs Trevison and Mrs Torre. Well ladies if you ready this i'm old enough to say this NICE!!! very nice LOL too bad we didn't get to see more. LOL anyway.....and then moved to Rutherford and went to Sylvan Street school for a year. At Sylvan school I met this kid. He was pretty much the only kid who gave me much of the time of day LOL His name is Greg Deluca... AAAAHHHHH well Greg was a cool guy not just because he wanted to be my friend but because he was differant want like to do things and not just sit around like a turd all of the time. We ended up being very good friends for a long time and had many adventures doing all sorts of things over the years. I don't know why but we used to go down the meadows in East Rutherford and walk through the garbage dumps and get into mischief as much as we could. Then went to Peirrpont School. and Ended u in the Mrs Willaims class for kids with special needs because I was oh so special. (that's code for HYPER). Greg was there with me in the same class and I was glad because I knew him and it was always good to be with someone you knew. It took the edge off being a new kid and we all know how that feels. After a year in Mrs Willaims class I ended up going to the hell of all hells Union Street school in Hackensack. Greg was already there LOL Damn Greg looks like you were just a bit more "special" then I was but I was glad to see you there first because again I had someone I knew and that was good enough. No offense to anyone at Union Street school form those years but if you went there you know what I mean. Going to this school was horrible because you rode the tart cart, were "special" and the teachers actually beat us up if we were how shall we say, "out of control".... yeah I think thats what they called it back then... Some of th teachers there loved to calm out of control kids down too much and are forever engrained in the minds of horrified " special people all over NJ. Most of my memories of Union Street school are of Teachers who tackled kids. Kids who had kids freaking out and running all over the hall way and occasionally the kid that would bolt out the door and run with a bunch of teachers chasing after LOL. I remember one day me and greg walked out of the school and decided we were going to clip and walk home. Yeha that was a master plan LOL we had to walk 5 miles back to Rutherford from Hackensack and it wouldn't have been so bad but we decided that instead of walking straight home like normal people that we would walk along the NJ transit line most of the way and throw rocks and break bottles and curse and pretend to smoke cigerettes LOL me and greg started out smoking by buying packs of marlboro red and puffing on them but not really inhaling. Damn that was dumb LOL Anyway we made it home and basically we would have been better off staying in school and getting a 30 minute bus ride home instead of the 3 hour walk home LOL. My end of school all togather was when they sent me to Rochleigh school and any of you th...Expand for more
at know about Rockleigh know what I mean. 1st day of school this kid in my new class is dressed like rambo. I mean really like Rambo for gods sake and i'm sitting there remembering back to the summer when I was visiting this school at 16 years old saying that I was going to quit school if they sent me there. Needless to say my parents sent me there ANYWAY and there I am again looking at Rambo in my new class room complete with bandana, black makeup under his eyes and this kid was looking like it was halloween. well 20 minutes into class he decided to blow the first fit of the year by pickung up his desk which had his RAMBO in black marker all over the top and proceeds to throw the desk through the black board on the other side of the room which was like 10 feet away... I see this and F THIS i'm outta here. I got up and walked to the office and told them that I was 16 years old and quitting school and they told me no you're not and I Bull crap on that and ran out the door LOL. Well let me tell you this. Before I got 50 feet away from the school there was atleast 10 teachers running full bore after me like I was on the frikkin menu!!! LOL I got away and had to walk about 25 or 30 miles back home. I stopped police cars and asked for rides to the town line and some helped me out. Once I got to Hackensack I had enough money to take the 76 to Rutherford and to this day I have scars on my feet from that day and I will never forget it as long as I live. Ray Dorr was also someone I knew in Rutherford. We weren't the best of friends but we were friends for some time. we tended to get into more trouble then not but still had fun. I used to always wonder what happened to Ray because we parted ways during the school years and I always hoped the best for him. I see today that he loves fishing and i'm hoping to get in contact with him and see what he's been up to all these years and greg too if he ever replies to my email LOL I don't know what else to say except that school for me wasn't a fun experience. I was a wimpy, skinny little kid who got picked on at every schoool I went to.WAAAA for me but it was a rough time. Regardless I turned out ok. I dropped out of School and joined the US Navy where I worked as a machinist mate. After my time there I continued with my adult ADHD and proceeded to jump from job to job and I have pretty much done it all by now. I am a trained Chef (used to be called The New York resturant school. worked in various locations the best being the time I worked for a year at the MSNBC studios in Secaucus as a chef. Then I worked the complete oposite of the field and worked in the Bergen county jail as an inmate supervisor. Basically I made drug addicts for for pennies a day and was locked in a kitchen with criminals for 8 hours a day with knived chained to the tables..... oh that was fun stuff. I even met people I knew in the jail and seeing them there wasn't fun but it was so weird to see them on one side of those damned bars and me on the other LOL but it was still funny LMAO. ;).... Paver, carpenter, cook, driver, home depot overnight crew. overhead door installer. You name it i've done it LOL worked in a shipyard in Norfolk VA for a bit and this that and the other thing. These days I am a truck driver. I drive an 18 wheeler and deliver lumber to Home Depot's all ove rthe NJ and NY city areas( not manhatten). basically if you buy lumber in NJ my company delivered it LOL" you're welcome" LOL. ok whatever my fingers are tired and I gotta get some sleep. I hope that I was able to bring back some memories for you all and maybe a few laughs and I hope that each of you has a unique story that is even more funny and interesting then mine. I look forward to reading some of your stories and i'll even add new stuff to this one as I think of the funny crap. update: I remember This kid Todd from Rutherford and Todd i'm sorry for the spelling but I think his name was Todd Sigenthaller.. someone help me with this. He was cool to me and didn't treat me too bad. I remember he gave me my first real nickname and called me "Reefer". I asked him why was he calling me Reefer and he said because you're skinny like a joint!!! LMAO now that's funny and I hope Todd reads this and rememebrs it because it was the best Nickname i've ever had . Thanks Todd
