Patrick's Story
College
Wasted 2 years of my life in UofT. But, should have grown up faster. Only used 10% of what I learn in engineering. University taught me that it is all about maturity and finding out what you are good at and stick to it. You will love what you do because it is a completely different ball game outside of school.
Workplace
At the start of Patrick's career at Bombardier Aerospace Inc., Bombardier' executive management decided to place Patrick into their fast track program due to his ability to improve existing processes and systems. Within months, a new department was created for Patrick and another colleague with a mandate to automate internal departmental processes.
Patrick's desire to design aircrafts eventually led him to join Bombardier's design engineering team. After 6 months, Patrick became the assistant lead design engineer overs...Expand for more
eeing the rear fuselage systems within the new Global Express business jet. In a very strict and process-driven environment, Patrick created his own innovative designs, incorporating new and advanced materials, to save Bombardier millions of dollars in the overall cost of manufacturing and maintaining the Global Express.
In end of 1998, Patrick joined Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), and became a highly-regarded consultant, implementing PTC's suite of PDM/PLM and CAD applications. Patrick's 11 years of experience with manufacturing, engineering, document and part control processes, combined with his understanding of other mechanical CAD tools (such as Pro/ENGINEER, CATIATM, IdeasTM, UGTM, and AutoCADTM), have enabled him to achieve comprehensive improvements in his applications, which best meet the requirements of his customer's processes
