Patrick's Story
I left FIT JBC in 1976 when I ran out of money to finish my BS. I attended University of Maryland where I met my wife and graduated in 1980 with degree in Biology.
In 1982, we moved to the Cayman Islands where I worked as a Divemaster/Instructor/Captain/Manager at a dive resort and ran a 65' sailing catamaran. Doris worked as a teacher and we got married in 1983. We spent the 7 most fun years of our lives in Cayman. We moved to Stuart, FL in 1989 because they hadn't screwed it up yet and I didn't want to go back to Maryland.

Captain on a variety of boats for a few years until I started at South Florida Water Management District in 1992. I've been there ever since and my job title is Environmental Scientist. I'm a project manager for water quality monitoring for the Lake Okeechobee watershed. I actually get to use that FIT education on occasion.
I still work part time as a Captain for TowboatUS and do boat deliveries when my real job schedule permits.
