Patrick's Story
The Nutshell edition...right after I got my diploma, I sat out till January for college because I didn't want to be a senior then a freshman in the same year...how stupid was I? My interests turned to theatre and radio (the best part-time job in the world, but don't expect job stability there). At least in the theatre I could pretend to be someone else other than myself. Imagine my suprise when I met my future wife there, who like me just for me!
Got my first full-time job for the state in '96, just in time for the birth of my daughter. A son followed in '99. Became an anchor-reporter in Little Rock for two years, then came back to my alma mater to work in the library, so I've gone from 'What is your strategy for this fiscal year, Govern...Expand for more
or?' to 'Shhhhhh'.
If you remember me, you know I always wanted to be a a member of Kiss when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a far-fetched idea. As it turns out, they were right, but I did get a chance to meet a few celebrities along the way in my radio career. They're just like us, only with a lot more people following them. Chatted with Ted Turner in the Clinton Library bathroom, asked about the weather by Rey Mysterio and traded stories with Stuart Whitman about Terry-Thomas.
About the time I turned 30, my metabolism fairy self-combusted, so I've packed on a few pounds of luggage. The moobs have their own Zip Code. On the plus side, I still have my hair, grey as it is, and I'm growing it like there's no tomorrow.
