After coming to Santa Barbara I never wanted to leave. What a beautiful place this is! I was lucky enough to meet a wonderful woman, marry her (eventually) and have some kids here. Life is pretty great...
Married 20+ years. 3 sons (15, 12, 10 as of 2007).
3 horses, 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 money pit (pool).

Pleasant Hill High - 1973-1977
Started out with only a few friends - still new to the area. Played football for first 2 years but hated it. A broken wrist, an operation, and a year later I was done with that. In my junior year I saw a group of kids having a great time and I wanted to be part of it. I saw that most of them were trying out for AFS so I did too so I could get to know them. Brazil and I'm still friends with them as a result. One of my smarter moves.
Nels Berthold is still my best friend. We only get together a few times per year, but it is always great when we do. The spring Strawberry Festival outside Yosemite is an annual trek for both of our families.
College
UC Davis - 1977-1980 (2 years, 1 quarter with 2 quarters off to earn money for college)
UC Santa Barbara - 1980-1982. BS in Environmental Biology. Had 2 jobs to get through.
UC Santa Barbara - 1982-1984. MS in Scientific Instrumentation (Physics dept.). Loans and 2 jobs.
Workplace
1984-1988 - Delco (General Motors). Wrote embedded SW for on-vehicle computers (engine computers, body computers).
1987-present - Vetronix. Started as a SW engineer and am now a manager.
Vetronix makes hand-held diagnostic tools for automotive technicians. If you own a GM, Ford, Honda, Toyota, Suzuki, or Kia it has likely been diagnosed and fixed using one or more of our tools.
