Patrick's Story
Life
After graduation, went to Rolla for a year, then joined the Navy. Memphis for a year, then Japan on USS MIDWAY for 3. Got married there. Back to Memphis for 5 years, during which time I graduated from Memphis State (BSEE) and got commissioned as a Naval Officer. Went to Newport RI for a year, then back to Japan on USS THACH (FFG 43) for 2. Son Alex was born in Japan. Then to Monterey CA and Grad School. Then to Hawaii in 1999 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard for 3 years. Stayed on Hawaii at another Navy command (MIDPAC), then back to Shipyard for a year. Retired from the Navy April 2006 as a LCDR (O4) with 22 years in, then was hired on at the shipyard as a civilian. I run the Test Engineering and Work Control Division at the shipyard and am considered one of the senior managers. Son plays soccer, boy scouts, piano. Will probably stay in Hawaii for a while.
