Patrick's Story
Life
My life to this point has been dedicated to serving our country in the US Air Force. I was married for the first time in 1989 and divorced in 1995. Shortly there after I met the love of my life and we married in 1997. We are both in the military and have had a variety of challenges to maintain our assignments together. We both love to travel and have had some truly memorable adventures. Our next big adventure will be to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.
School
Life at Morse HS was great. I kept busy with the Swim and Math Team and learned basic computer programming in the on the archaic Digital PDP11. I still keep in touch with some of my closest friends and really enjoy the Class of 1981 reunions.
College
I attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach Florida. It was a tough choice between the beach and upstate Michigan. Spring Break was wild, but got old after the second year. My biggest memo...Expand for more
ry was how much time I put in to studying. Oh to be young again and able to survive on 4 hours a sleep a night. I was not interested in any fraternities, but was invited to join the Engineering Honor Society of Sigma Gamma Tau. I had a variety of part time jobs including grading papers and working at an Ethan Allen furniture store. After graduating in 1985 with my BS, my first military assignment was in Southern California. I took the opportunity and attended USC night school for 2 years and earned a MS in Systems Management.
Military
I joined ROTC in college and was awarded an Engineering Scholarship in 1982. I graduated ROTC and received my commission on 17 Aug 1985. I have been assigned to a variety of bases throughout the US and overseas working on many different weapon systems including ICBMs, Satellites, and a variety of aircraft. I left NASA Headquarters last in 2007 and now work for NATO in Belgium.
