patrick's Story

I was born and raised until I was 21 in Orcutt and Santa Maria. I joined the Army in 1974. I served in the Army for 13 years. I lived in Kansas, Texas, and Bavaria, West Germany. I lived in Germany for 6 years with the Army and enjoyed every moment there!!! In 1999 I joined the Oregon National Guard and served with them for 15 years with the 1/186 Infantry station in Ashland, Oregon and ...Expand for more
St. Helens, Oregon. I also worked for 7 years as a mechanic at Camp Rilea on the coast full time. I retired from my job and being in the National Guard on March 31, 2014. I was 61 years old when I RETIRED. I live in Warrenton, Oregon on the coast in my own home with my wife, daughter, and grandson. I haven't been back to Santa Maria since 1987 and most likely be returning any time soon.

I have a Veltex gas station patch that long time residents of Santa Maria might remember. It was my father station from in the 50's until 1961. it was replaced by a Shell station. even John Madden used to buy his gas there
this morning we found a wild turkey walking up our driveway.
this sign I have in decal form. their very old and yellowing. old time racers will remember this.
