Patrick's Story
Life
My life has recently taken a dramatic and fast turn for the better. After two ill-fated romances, I have finally found my better half--a lovely woman named Ingrith who has agreed to be my wife and hopefully the mother of our children. A lot of our plans will depend on State Dept. decisions, but we hope to get married this year and spend at least 2 years in the US while I learn Spanish, then relocate to her home country of Panama so that she can return to her teaching, and we'll see what happens from there.
The biggest accomplishment of my professional life so far has been getting to Athens to photograph the 2004 Olympics. This came during the 3+ years that I was making a (marginal) living as a full-time profession...Expand for more
al photographer. I have since gone back to a full-time tech job (in Normal, Illinois) at least until I get completely back on my feet financially. A significant indication of being in the right direction is that I was finally able to get a PT Cruiser and currently spend some of my time (and money) adding chrome to it to make it uniquely mine. I still photograph as much as possible, but it's strictly part-time weekend/vacation work at the moment.
In other news, my principal form of exercise these days is cycling, since I have weaker knees and a little more girth than I did in my running days. I'm hoping I might be able to get back in shape enough to pound the pavement again, but I doubt there's a marathon in my future.
