Patrick's Story

Wow 45 years since I have seen a majority of you - always thought that we as a class would have crossed paths sometime after graduation. My story, as brief as it can be told was after graduation I worked in Red Deer for a couple of years and returned to Saskatoon to marry Anne Sander in 1973 - Anne and I dated while we were both in high school (Anne attended St George). As well as getting married in 1973 I started classes at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating from the College of Commerce in 1977 with a major in accounting. From an employment side I worked at Winspear, Higgins Stevenson until 1980 when I joined what is now Cameco. I retired from Cameco in 2011. Anne and I were blessed with two children, a son Jack and a daughter Sarah. Both kids are now in their 30's and Jack has two boys of his own. Grandchildren are absolutely wonderful and it is amazing how they can keep you young. Extremely proud of the kids - Jack is a Risk Management Officer with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and Sarah in on the radio in Regina. The family is doing well and other than the odd ache and pain from the aging process we are in good health. Our non work life has centred around the family but we also found time to become members in various service clubs and charities - the biggest commitment being ...Expand for more
a member of the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon; POW City. We also had developed a strong interest in travelling and when the kids were younger is was primarily camping trips to Western Canada and the north west part of the United States. Over time our travels have taken us further abroad, initially the standard family trips to California and Florida to partake in the creations of Walt Disney. And more recently (the last 15 years) further abroad - we have been fortunate to have been able to travel to places like China, Australia, Scilly, Italy, the middle east (Jordan, Syria, Egypt & Israel) and numerous trips to Europe. We have also fell in love with cruising which has allowed us to visit place in Spain, Portugal and Alaska as well as a trip through the Panama Canal. Life has treated me very will since graduating in 1971 and the only thing that I might have changed is working to see if we could have had the odd class reunions over the past decades. On occasion I will met some of the old class but as noted above there are some that I have not seen since 1971 - life will do that. So by signing up to Classmates I hope to reconnect with some of you - while I do not expect that we will become "drinking buddies" it would be nice to see how everyone is doing and maybe coffee someday might be in order.
