Patrick's Story
Life
im a heavy equipment mechanic welder at the steel mill in Pueblo, Co. but i have my own "hobby shop" where i do alot of side jobs/repairs on my friends cars for some extra cash as well as work at my forge (blacksmithing).... for fun i build and race demolition derby cars with a couple of my good friends
School
school for the most part really sucked! but i had quite afew good friends that help made widefield alt. high somewhat tolerable,.... but when i realized that i wasn't getting anywhere (with only 6 credits after 3 years....owch!!!)... i decided to drop out and went ...Expand for more
to job corps,..... thanks to them i got trained in heavy equipment mechanics, and i earned both my h.s. diploma and a g.e.d.
Workplace
i joined the union in '94 and since then i worked quite abit on the road with a portable rock crushing spread (in order to supply road crews with screened rock when roads need to be built/repaired in the middle of nowhere), it gave me the oppertunity to live and work in lots of differant towns and states and to meet many interesting people,.... however, im tired of living on the road, so now im working at the steel mill and enjoying settling down
