Life
Born in WV, moved to Ohio attended East Lake Elementary, Cleveland, Ohio. Moved to W.Va., went to Chesapeake Elementary, Fetty Elementary and Barboursville Jr. High, then moved to South Point in 1959. Have 2 grown daughters, no grandchildren. Live at the Chesapeake Bay, in Port Haywood, Va. just outside the town of Mathews, Va., have a 21ft Bayliner for boating & fishing for flounder, striper and croaker (sometimes shark), and kayak in "Winter Harbor Landing" just off the Bay, but mostly just relax at the waters edge. Also spend a little time on the Appomattox and James rivers in Hopewell, VA. - Yes, I love the water. I lived on the banks of the Ohio River as a teenager. I wanted to be an airline attendant so I could see more than just WV and Ohio, but changed my mind after I moved to the DC area. I was really homesick when I left Ohio, and I have never gotten over the pain of missing my friends and loved ones. ...Expand for more

Workplace
1963-64 waitress at Carroll's Restaurant in South Point, Ohio (my senior yr. H.S.), this job helped me to overcome my shyness. After graduation 1964-66 worked in Wash. D.C. for N.A.L.C. (ins. co. for letter carriers). 1969-73 worked for Allied Chemical (now known as Honeywell) in Hopewell, Va. (data processing and control). Took 5 years off to stay home with my 2nd child (actually I delivered approx. 500 newspapers for the local town paper until she started to school). 1979-present, work at the Hopewell News and Publishing Co., in Hopewell, Va. (hometown newspaper), started in the Graphics Department designing advertisements, and setting type, promoted to Composing Manager and Pre-Press Supervisor - handling and controlling all commercial printing as well as our newspapers.
