Paul's Story
Life.....ah well.....
Hello Class of 1972 -
I used to live on East Robinson Street - now I live in Atlanta, GA. Since high school I have lived (because of where I worked) in Lockport; Washington, DC; Philadelphia; Boston; San Francisco; Birmingham,AL; Portland,OR; and now Atlanta (since 1993). We actually live in the real City of Atlanta - not one of the suburbs - in town living is great.
I work in sales for a very large international company that no one has ever heard of - but has touched the stuff you have all over your home. I married a real Georgia girl who has retired last year from IBM after 32 years. No kids and one cat. We love to travel and try to get overseas every few years.
Travel International - So far we have been to Italy (12 days for our honeymoon), Denmark, Norway, and Sweden (a 2 week trip to sightsee, meet friends, & drink beer), Germany (1 week on the Rhine & Mosel Rivers to drink wine), France (2 weeks all over to drink wine - see a trend here?? - ending in Paris for 4 days), Spain (Tinto!!!), Japan (2 weeks - no wine but plenty of Sake'), Seoul Korea (1 week - down to drinking beer now), Singapore (found a great Irish pub), Hong Kong (Ditto), Bangkok Thailand & Mainland China.
Travel Domestically - We have been all over the US and Canada - usually in the fall to see the colors and after other vacationers are gone and the kids have gone back to school. Some of my favorites have been Bar Harbor, Maine over Columbus Day (week), Nova Scotia, Canada, New Mexico fro...Expand for more
m Albuquerque to Taos (change in elevation of over 10,000 ft), Oregon - all over and at anytime of year, & California Russian River Wine Country at harvest time.
Some highlights - a week long riverboat cruise on the Mississippi from St. Paul to St. Louis during the fall to see the colors; a rafting trip on the Shubenacadie River where the river actually changes directions while you are rafting; hiking in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor when you have it all to yourself; Fall colors, fine wine, and great food & friends everywhere!!!
Hobbies - only two but both expensive - I restore antique automobiles (I do the work myself). I currently own (2) 1933 Chevrolets - one currently under restoration, a 1953 Chevy Belair Convertible, and an old, cranky truck to scrounge around junkyards with. The second hobby is cooking - I arrange and prepare multiple course gourmet dinners for 6 people for dinner parties we throw a couple times a year. We did an "Eat a Peach" dinner in honor of both Georgia (the Peach State) and the Allman Brothers (their album after all) - 7 courses all featuring fresh, ripe peaches in the recipe.
Get back to NT - at least once a year. My entire family still lives in NT - though I have been good at getting the nephews down south - one at University of South Carolina and one at the University of West Georgia.
Reunions - only made it to the 20 year reunion. Hope to see everyone for in 2012 for the big 40 year mark (if someone else organizes it - after all I'm in Atlanta).
