Paul's Story

School My biggest crush was Jenny Olivieri. I sometimes wonder what she is doing nowadays. For those people who went to Windmill Conservatory, it's gone now. I have many fond memories and friends from my time there. I really miss Mrs. Goetz. College 1991 Graduate from University of North Texas with a BS in Criminal Justice. I was a Resident Assistant for 1 year and went through ROTC in nearby Texas Women's University. Workplace No burger flipping here. Administrative jobs through temporary agencies got me started after college. I tried many police departments, but just couldn't get hired. Finally, Shreveport (Louisiana) Police Department gave me a chance. I was the Honor Graduate and second best shooter in the class. A mere nine months later, I was off to the United States Marshals Service in Washington, D.C. Four and a half years of hell later, I moved to the Philadelphia, PA office and joined the agency's Special Operations Group (a nationally-based tactical team). Eight months after that, I got an opportunity to move back to Texas; Beaumont fir...Expand for more
st followed by Sherman where I now work as a Deputy U.S. Marshal and serve as the Warrant Coordinator. I'm looking forward to moving to Plano in January 07. Military The Army Reserve helped me pay for college starting in 1987. I joined ROTC at Texas Women's University and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 1990. I started in the Armor Branch and served as a Tank Commander for an M60A3 platoon in the Texas National Guard, and then to an Executive Officer position in an M1 Company in the Louisiana National Guard. After moving to Washington, D.C. in 1997, I joined the Civil Affairs Branch. I served 9 months in Bosnia from 1999-2000. When I returned to Beaumont, Texas in 2002, I stayed in Civil Affairs in Pasadena, Texas. When I moved to Sherman in late 2003, I was involuntarily transferred to another Civil Affairs unit in Abilene, TX and sent to Baghdad, Iraq for 11 months. Safely returning from there in 2004, I transferred to the 807th Medical Command where I currently serve as a Major in the Civil Affairs Officer slot. Two years until retirement!
