Paul's Story
Life
Unsuccessful attempt at Colorado University 1977-79. Found out you actually have to study in College.
Dropped out of CU, joined nuclear program in Navy. Didn't follow rules very well once I started questioning my life. Spent time in brig and was finally released after a bit of trauma.
Recovered from Navy by working in photo lab for 5 years and smoking a lot of pot. Met my first wife at photo lab. Decided to stop being a stoner when 1st child on way.
B.S., Computer Science University of Utah 1988.
Worked for IBM in Tucson for six years on high-end tape drives. Returned to Utah & have worked for many years in Telecommunications.
Currently married to a sweet woman. We both just came out of an abusive relationship and we are learning a lot together. We have four children at home together and I have three older children not at home.

Believe important civil rights issue of our day is gay rights (no, I'm not gay).
One of my inspirations in life is Sikh Guru Nanak, who spent his life helping Muslims & Hindus to live their own religion better. I believe that spirituality is very important. As I have gotten older, I also realize more & more what a privilege it is to spend time on the Earth. Also believe that the Earth was not created for us. We were not created for the Earth, either. We exist together. No matter what anyone's beliefs about the next life, I think we should all agree that what we do with "this life" is important.
I heard a quote once that a man was asked what he would do if he knew the Earth was going to end tomorrow. He stated, "plant a tree." I certainly still have a lot of planting to do. Hopefully most of it will be done in a good way.
