Paul's Story
Life
A major element in my teenage years was the Milwaukee Recreation Dept.'s summer "Trailer Theatre". I got the theatre bug and was convinced that I would become a famous actor/director. After doing work in summer stock in Stockbridge, Mass., designing at a professional theater in Milwaukee, and getting my bachelor's degree in Theatre at Carroll College, I went to Ohio U. in Athens, OH for my MFA. Eventually, the Designer/Director I worked for in stock told me he considered himself a glorified interior decorator and that I was a real designer. It made me reconsider my career options, and after graduation I started teaching at Denison University in Granville, Ohio (as Designer/Technical Director).
At Denison I met Pam, my wife of over 40 years. We had 2 grown sons, the younger of whom has blessed us with two granddaughters. Our older son, Peter, died in February of 2007 at the age of 38. Pam is a retired teacher/director of childrens theatre/creative dramatics.

son we came to NJ to The College of NJ. After 3 years as Designer/TD there, I shifted to New Jersey Public Broadcasting where I was the Scenic Designer for almost 10 years. I did a short stint thereafter as a free-lance designer for corporate video, but was shifting into playing around with computers at that time.
I spent 19 years at Cognetics Corporation, designing computer interfaces, then consulted for 8 months with an R&D IT group at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, and was briefly affiliated with Iknow LLC, a Knowledge Management consulting firm in Princeton. I spent 2 1/2 years commuting to Sterling Testing Systems in New York city, then almost 2 years at ADP (a long commute by car) - ending up consulting for a couple of years at Dow Jones & then Chubb Insurance. Finally retired in 2011.
Since about 1998 I've been focusing in my spare time on digital & traditional painting, some based on space and astronomy, and some of the scenery around our family cabin in Cuchara, Colorado.
