Life A major element in my teenage years was the Milwaukee Recreation Dept.'s summer "Trailer Theatre". I got the theatre bug and was convinced that I would become a famous actor/director. After doing work in summer stock in Stockbridge, Mass., designing at a professional theater in Milwaukee, and getting my bachelor's degree in Theatre at Carroll College, I went to Ohio U. in Athens, OH for my MFA. Eventually, the Designer/Director I worked for in stock told me he considered himself a glorified interior decorator and that I was a real designer. It made me reconsider my career options, and after graduation I started teaching at Denison University in Granville, Ohio (as Designer/Technical Director). At Denison I met Pam, my wife of over 40 years. We had 2 grown sons, the younger of whom has blessed us with two granddaughters. Our older son, Peter, died in February of 2007 at the age of 38.
