Paul's Story

Like many of our classmates, I chose a career in education. I started as a KG teacher and my last position was Elementary Principal on Nantucket Island. I spent ten years as a classroom teacher working with children on Cape Cod. A sabbatical spent at the Harvard Graduate School of Education lead to 17 years in school leadership. In 1999, I joined the Education Department at Champlain College in Burlington,Vermont. I left Champlain for Nantucket in 2006. My first priority has always been my family. While teaching at Champlain College, my children prospered in the Shelburne Vermont Schools. My daughter is a member of the Amherst College class of 2006 and is a graduate of Da...Expand for more
rtmouth Medical School. My son went to Tufts University to study Computer Science and Math. He is an artificial intelligence specialist for the Take Two Interactive Gaming. They both are kind, caring and productive adults and I am very proud of them. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about providing equal opportunities for all students. I have advocated for those with learning differences, whether they face exceptional challenges or have untapped potential for greatness. Educators deal with society’s problems every day. Hats Off to those in our class who have dedicated their lives to teaching! These days I spend my time enjoying life at our home near Amherst.
