Life
I grew up in the peaceful town of Ojai, California playing baseball, football and other sports through the city leagues and the "Boyd" Club. Went to Ojai Elementary, Matilija Jr. High, then....
'70-'74 Nordhoff High School, Ojai California.
July-October '74, Fort Ord, California.
'74-'75, Fort Devens, Mass.
'75-'77 U.S. Army,Sgt-Frankfurt, West Germany. 302nd ASA, Kennedy Kaserne.
'77-'78 moved to Ontario California and worked for Vons Mkt Warehouse.
'78-'87 Owned PSL Delivery delivering home furnishings for major Department stores.
'84-'98 memeber Ontario Foursquare Church -
'87-'98 Youth Pastor.
'87-'95 Accounts Manager for Direct Trucking.
'95-'99 Outreach Coordinator for "Focus West" a San Bernadino County funded collaboration.
'98-present Senior Pastor, Hope Chapel of Ontario.
In 1998 I was appointed, then elected in 1999 to the Ontario California city council. Re-elected in 2000 and again in 2004. In '05 I won election as Mayor, then re-election in '06 for ...Expand for more
a full 4 year term. Actually, I set a local record for campigns: 5 in 8 years!!
Married Cheryl Huyck. We have two kids, Paul Mike and Kristina. They are both grown and gone! Paul is property manager for the county of San Bernardino, married and doing great with one son and a daughter, Teeni is currently an assistant county counsel attorney for San Bernadino County, married with one daughter.

I've had many blessings in life and I've been able to meet some interesting people, i.e. The President and Governor, but I have to say that becoming friends with the cast of "WICKED" has been very, very heart warming. They are such a bunch of nice kids! Meet them in my photo album.
Cheryl and I enjoy Hawaii so much we can't wait to move there asap! It's about to happen!!
Life has been satisfying since the day I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I didn't say perfect or easy. But I know that I am who I am because of Him.
