Paul's Story

Paul is from Whittier, California. Paul's schools include Whittier High School, Saint Joseph School, Saint Mary of the Assumption School, Rio Hondo. Paul won NEH Grants to study history at Columbia, University of Tennessee, UCLA, CA State Fullerton, Claremont, Cal Poly Pomona and Loyola. I also studied at the New York Asia Society and with Teach America. Also Paul won two Freeman Grants to travel to China, Japan, and Korea. Paul graduated from Whittier College in 1968 with BA In sociology and history. Paul received his masters in education in 1970. He worked for the Happy Valley School District in Shasta County in 1968-69. In the fall of 1969 he returned to Whittier to work for the Whittier City School District for 39 years until he retired. s a wife, Connie, and two children (both graduates of Whittier College) He has three grandchildren... so far. Paul is on the board of directors of the Credit Union of Southern CA. He was on the board of directors of the Whittier History Association and Museum, He is a member of the Whittier Genealogy Society. He was associated with Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple in Hacienda Height as a dharma teacher for over 20 years. Paul likes to travel. He have been to over 80 countries and all 50 states. He likes history, family history, local history and reading Music Paul likes includes Classic Rock, Classical, Los Angeles Master Chorale. Books Paul likes include Moby Dick, Inherit the Wind, Dao De Ching. Movies Paul likes include Chicago, My Fair Lady, Judgement at Nuremberg. TV shows Paul likes include Sports Football and Basketball, , MSNBC. One of Paul's favorite quotes is:"An unexamined life is not worth living.......Socrates".
