Paul's Story
Life
I received my Bachelors of Science in Physics with an emphasis in numerical analysis from Arizona State University in 1989 after several years of floundering around and working part time as a computer programmer.
I first worked for ASU in 1981 for the Department of Planetary Geology as a FORTRAN programmer for the NASA Viking and Voyager projects. I joined the Center for Solid State Science at Arizona State University in 1987 as a Systems Applications Analyst where IÂm now the Principal Technical Support Analyst. We perform research in high resolution electron microscopy and are one of the worldÂs premier research centers in that field.
I now have over 20 years experience in image processing, data analysis and computer systems management. I have had the opportunity...Expand for more
and privilege to work with many world-renowned scientists over the years, including Dr. Michael C. Malin (Malin Space Science Systems), Regents Professor Phil Christensen (ASU), Regents Professor John Cowley (ASU), Regents Professor John C. Spence (ASU), and Regents Professor David J. Smith (ASU).
I volunteer as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a local Boy Scouts of America troop and working fundraising auctions for both the Northern Arizona University's Skyjacks and Christ Lutheran School. I live in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix with my stepson Gregory and my wife Kathy D. Wigal, who was my high-school sweetheart. We reunited after not seeing each other for over sixteen years and got married in 2000. She also works for ASU as the Director of Academic Transfer Articulation.
