Paul's Story

After graduating in 62, I moved to Blytheville, Ar. with my parents and attended Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, and graduated Aug 66. Joined the Army, Feb 67, and worked at the Basic Training Unit at Fort Knox, Ky., until June 69, and went to Fort Wolters, Tx. Jul 69, as a Captain and began Helicopter flight training, first phase. Nov 69, transferred to Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Ga. for the second phase. Graduated Jun 70, and Jul 70, transferred to An Khe, Vietnam, assigned to the 4th Inf Div and flew choppers. Injured Oct 70, and air-evacuated to Camp Zama Hospital, Japan. Jan 71, assigned to Fort Hood, Tx, where I work...Expand for more
ed with a unit testing Army units loading on and off the Air Force C-5 aircraft. Discharged in Sep 73, and moved to Burbank, Ca. During the time between 66 and 73 married a beautiful lady by the name of Gayle, and we had three wonderful boys, who are now wonderful men. I joined the LA County Sheriff Dept. in Mar 74 as a Deputy Sheriff and retired Mar 03 and Gayle and me moved to Washougal, Wa., where we now live. We have six grandchildren, five boys and a girl, and one great grandson. This note is being written on 3May, which happens to be my birthday. To all the grads from 1962, hello and good health..
