Greetings from the Land of Lincoln!
Moved here from Connecticut in October '99 and am a Regional Coordinator for the Illinois Emergency Management Agency - natural disasters, homeland security and things like that. Spent a few weeks on loan to the State of Florida after Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and several more with the State of Mississippi following Katrina in 2005. May not appeal to all, but for me it's become both life and livelihood...there's some real satisfaction to be had in helping people get their lives ba...Expand for more
ck on track, and it's nice to have something to feel good about.
I'm married to the midwest lady responsible for my move and have two daughters (18 & 19). Home is primarily an almost restored 1890 Victorian in Seneca (about 65 miles southwest of Chicago) but life also includes a small farm in Fancy Prairie (about 18 miles north of Springfield) and a "retreat" in Manlius Township (don't ask - you can't find it!). A whole lot different from Middletown and Connecticut, to be sure!
