Paul's Story
Life
After graduation I worked in Salina for a while and then one day I decided that there was nothing in Salina for me. So I went to the Navy Recruter and told him to get me the hell out of here and he did. I went to Great Lakes, Ill. for boot camp and then to Millington, TN. for some on the job training. After a couple of months there I went to Virginia Beach, VA. for a couple more months to learn how to operate and fight aircraft, ships, and submarines. Once I completed my training I was assigned to my first ship the USS Talbot FFG-4 in Mayport, FL. where I sailed mostly in the golf of mexico, south america, and west africa. d a son. This ended my first enlistment but not my career inthe military. I reenlisted and went to the USS Bunker Hill CG-52 in San Diego, CA. for a few months before being forward deployed to Japan for a year. I made several more cruises which covered the entire Pacific Ocean, The Indian Ocean, and the Pursian Gulf. I then went to shore duty in Dahlgren, VA. to be an instructor at AEGIS Training Center. While stationed there I went to desert storm and the returned to go to my next sea command the USS San Jacinto CG-56. I left the Navy after this command to go to college. I got my degree in computer science in 97. I have since married again and have another son 11/00.
