Paul's Story
Workplace
Been Working at something since I was 13. During school I got a real Job at the New 76 Truck Stop on I-40 in NLR. Goss Furn. NLR. Then I was a welder at a Place in Little Rock and a Painter at Hall Tank. I worked at General Delivery service driving a truck, when I wasn't working at Medic Vac Ambulance. I also did a streach in Conway AR. shortly after getting married, building moble homes before returning to North Little Rock and working at Ward Supply in Little Rock. I painted, welded, ran big steel working machines then made production manager and got the office. I worked part time at the Ambulance Service until later I Ran American Ambulance Service in Jacksonville AR. After about a year I lost the city contract so I went to work for the police department in Jacksonville. Four years later I went to work for Ashdown PD and also did time at Foreman AR as their City Marshall when they lost theirs. I gave it up for a month or so, then DeQueen needed help after most of their department got killed in a major car accident while traveling ...Expand for more
in a funeral escort to a fellow officers services. I donated about two months of my time to work for DeQueen PD and later they talked me into staying and working for them. I made Captain and was also doing criminal investigations. I stayed there 15 years then semi-retired. Worked 6 months at the News Paper office running the Printing Press. The Sevier County Sheriff (whom I trained at the City)Talked me into returning to Law enforcement work with his Office. I did this for about 8 months, but some health problems and general boredom got to me and I wanted something else. The wife and I bought a Country Store, Cafe and RV Park in the Quachita Mountains outside Mena, Arkansas. Here I am still working way, way too much, 66 to 80 hours a week and still not old enough to draw my retirement yet. Anyone want to buy a store,Cafe & RV Park for a lot of money, so I don't have to work anymore and can hunt, fish, mow the yard and just kick back? No friends please... wouldn't want to lose you by selling this place to you. You do meet great people up here.
