Life Elementary school, Mott ND; high school, Albuquerque NM; Grad UNM 1942; post grad,Univ SoCal; newspaper reporter, writer, in Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Washington DC, 1937-1967;government and corporate public relations until retirement, 1988.now columnist, freelance writer.mnarried 1941,two children. Second marriage 1990. School Left Mott (ND)High, 1933; played drums in band and worked on school newspaper in Albuquerque (NM), led walkout of students in 1937 "Strike for Peace." College Entered UNM in 1937. Worked my way through school,as sports editor of Albuquerue Journal. Majored in English Lit and Government. Got more education from Drs Wynn and White than from others. Accompanied Ted Shipkey's football teams to many games, and moved on with him into the USAAC in WWII. ...Expand for more

Military All stateside, mostly at one post, 1942-1945 -- writing sports, hometown releases, combat returnee propaganda, column for airbase magazine, traveling with athletic teams, designing an obstacle course, eating at best mess hall in the Air Corps, avoiding transfer to the infantry, successfully dodging post-war overseas assignment.
