Brewer High School What can I say well I definetly
enjoyed my High School years. It is something I still look back on with a smile. We were a generation allowed
freedoms that our children will never enjoy. 18 was the legal drinking age, I was Grandfathered in when it went to 20 then later 21. Most anyplace in Bangor would sell
you a case of beer no questions asked. I loved it all had
some great times and really it is a miricale I survived it all.
Back in High School I drove a lime green Plymouth
Duster (actually it was a Dodge Dart Sport but looked like a Duster) I dated Lisa Tripp and Diane Thompson
and Lynn Crocker the rest of the Girls I dated were from Bangor. I usually could be found out in the smoking area, I could usually be found at most parties if you looked around but I didn't draw alot of
attention to myself I just was mellow unless provoked. Later after I wrecked the Duster I drove
a Plymouth Satellite a huge boat of a car that got plenty of use. I Sold it 2 days before I went in the military to Ernie of South Brewer who with in a week
blew the motor up.
Life
Thought it might be right to update this Life section. A Grandpa several times over. Got plenty of family most of the kids are out of the house out on there own. Still got one Angie who has always been a pest about sticking around I guess it is either the love of Mom and Dad or it is the love of having everything in the house already here instead of having to do it on your own. Either way for the most part she is a good kid for 24 years old just puts a crimp in the ability to run around the house chasing the wife naked is all. I still work for Florida Chemical. I am basically there Refrigeration Specialist along with Electrician. They reward me appropriately so I would assume this is my last place to work before retirement. Loving life on my off weeks and hurting on my on weeks. You see I work 7 on and 7 off 12 hour days.
love that off time and dread the on time. As for what I
have seen and done been to 49 of the 50 states the Air Force seen to alot of that for traveling. Can't say I have done it all but I know a little about alot of things
for instance I work my primary job as a Distillation Operator, The Electrical and Refrigeration is on Demand.
I spent 4 years on a Structural Maintenance and repair Team SMART during that time I worked in all the trades from Carpentry to Plumbing from Masonary to Painting. As
an Electrician Assigned I took lead on the Electrical projects. I bought an older home and have been remodeling it through out my self to include upgrading the electrical and Plumbing along with finishing off the Sheetrock and Priming and Painting. It is all worth it even with the sudden down swing in the market I am ahead of the game Was alot better off before the down swing but it is still all good.
School
Ridge Technical Center
Working long Days and having short nights to finish up the class work. Finishing up with Pete Pertivis and thinking that I knew it all. Starting out 2nd half with Gene Sellars and finding out that I didn't know as much as I thought. Networking with a whole new goup of people from all different HVACR fields. Good solid Connections for the Future in this Trade. John thanks for yo...Expand for more
u votes of confidence and trust.
BREWER HIGH SCHOOL
School was the best 400 students all out back of the school each morning. No everyone wasn't smoking Cigerettes, Trips to Bar Harbour, Keggers, Parties at Reggies house in South Brewer with a few Exiles thrown in for good measure. Cops that didn't bust parties just sounded the sirens and flashed spotlights at the windows when the music got too loud too late. Parties man there where alot. Good friends and good times...Lisa Tripp,Diane Thompson,Diane Rollan, Gail Ashlocke, Robert Horr, Steve, Eric,
Jimmie, Gary, My old Dodge Dart Sport loaded with people headed for Bar Harbour it was all good times. Then after I wrecked the Car
Started on Stage Two with a Plymouth Satellite it was a bigger car and could haul more...Ernie,and few others including Lewie as we Fought out in the Street on a Street called Hellier Street in Bangor with a Rival Bangor Gang...WE WON out numbered We WON.. Yeah it was a wild and fast time growing up in Brewer. Well worth it and wouldn't have had it any other way. I joined the Air Force too soon there were so many unfinished things that I wanted to do and never got to do..Well to all it was some of the best times I can't say it was the best cause there are some wild stories I can tell you today but you'll have to write me to hear about those....
College
My college experiences were unlike most individuals college experiences. I spent mine over a 6 year period taking night classes between a Military Education Center and on a University of North Dakota Campus. Many excellent instructors, some poor ones . I made it have an associates in applied Mechanical and Electrical Science through CCAF.
Workplace
What have I done wow there is alot.
20 years in the Air Force as an electrician, Control Systems Specialist, Alarms Tech, Appliance
Tech. Worked part time for a Housing Maintenance Contractor repaired Gas Furnaces, Snaked Sewers, Rehung sinks and repaired plumbing leaks Water Breaks ect. Changed out water heaters and the likes. Installed dish washers and basically anything you find around the house I did.
Retired came to Florida and seen a big change in Pay Ouch it hurt. Started at 8 an hour for a Resort Center. Worked my way up to 12 an hour with them. Went to Work for Winter Haven Hospital worked my way back up to 12 but had benefits including a vacation package. I then started for the County as a Refrigeration/HVAC technician working at the South County Jail. Pay is getting closer to what I left up North but still not there. Since originally writing this went to work for Florida Chemical here in Winter Haven have been with them for close to 4 years.... This is were I will stay till I retire.

Military
There is no finer organization in the World than the United States Air Force. I enjoyed all my Duty Assignments along with the Friends I made everywhere..You know who you are. Only one Friend I ever lost touch with(update found him)Robert Scott Newlon. Mostly due to deployments and him making a short notice move. Commaradarie something that only the civilians can dream about cause there is no place in the outside world that equals the feeling of knowing someone has your back covered if your a team player. I miss it and always will.
Work hard Play hard was the motto and I miss the Play hard since my retirement. Civil Engineers can accomplish anything given the tools and the equipment. I have seen Bare Bases go up in a week with full Air Craft support including Barriers and be torn down in a Day. Work Hard Play Hard no other way to explain it. One last comment THANK YOU LADIES you all made it really worth while.
