Paula's Story
Life
Hi all,
Updated as of 6/12/09. Married thirty years (11/19/78), which we celebrated 3 weeks in Hawaii. I met my husband in Boston where we both worked for Stone and Webster Engineering. Fernando and I have lived in CT since 1980. (prior to that, we lived in Phoenix, AZ) We built our 2nd house in '84, where we live now. We have two children. Son, Rick is 28, and just finished up 9 years in the Army. He is a computer tech. mechanic. My daughter Patricia, 26, graduated from Bentley College in Waltham, MA with her BS in Accounting, and is the manager of international compliance at Covidien in Mansfield, MA. She lives in Milton, and is in the Masters program at Bentley (finishing up her Masters in Taxation, then CPA). I do not work. I guess you could say, I retired. Hubby is a consultant and works in construction management and travels all over. I don't work so I can travel with him. For now, I am just enjoying life. When I'm home, I go to the gym each morning, maybe relax and read in my hottub in the afternoon, or find other things to keep me busy. I am very active in my church, (Adoration weekly and Third Order of Mary, and I truly enjoy singing in the choir). I also sing with Sweet Adelines International. I'd have to say, singing is my favorite thing to do. Doowop music is my passion. My second j...Expand for more
oy in life is gardening. My roses keep me very busy in the summer. I love to give my friends fresh, long stem roses from my gardens. I also try to grow vegatables. My tomatoes do great but the lettuce gets eaten up by the rabbit who lives under my deck. I nicknamed him Peter. I golf every chance I get. Also, my husband and I do ballroom dancing and we have a lot of fun out on the floor. We travel alot. I love Europe. Been to Paris in "97, Rome in 2000, and Madrid in 2003 for our Silver Anniversary. The rest of Europe I've seen through my daughter's digital camera, as she studied abroad in Madrid for a year, and traveled extensively every chance she got. I've gone snorkeling and sailing in Florida, Aruba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Hawaii. We rent a house in the Keys and go lobstering every August. (if you want to call those Florida crawfish, Lobsters). Us New Englanders know that "real" lobsters come from Maine!!!!! In February we added a new, tiny member to the family. My little yorkie named Guinness. He is now 7 months old and still only 3 1/2 lbs. He keeps me very busy. My mom is still in Randolph, so I am up there quite often. Wow, the town sure has "changed" but the good things in life haven't changed yet. You can always find me having a slice at either Zacks, Amvets or Linwood Pizza. Yummmmmmm
