Paula's Story
We (Pete and I) left Queens when we found out we were going to have our second child. I had been teaching until Alex was born in 1999 and then stayed home with him. We realized we could not be around family and possibly own a home in NYC, so we came to MN--Pete's family was here, and at the time my mom and brother were in Milwaukee.

rother moved in with us.
But owning a home put an end to being a stay at home mom, so I went to work at a childcare center and brought the kids with me.
I am still there, as the Assistant Director. Clara is ending 1st Grade, Alex is ending 3rd Grade, and Theo is 17 months old and goes to the center with me, although he is in a different class than the one I teach.
