had a great afternoon at the Illinois State Museum with Erich Schroeder playing at the "Music Around the World" program. I think I may have been one of the first to play native Alaska tunes on a hammered dulcimer!
Happy Statehood Day to my Alaskan friends!
Back from the fairy tale themed family dinner. Here's a picture of the chef--my nephew Greg as Geppetto--and his "son," the future Pinocchio.
For those of you who don't know her, this is Ceili, my niece Beth's kitty who has been living with my sister Phyllis and her husband Harry. Harry is in the hospital right now, so Ceili came to live with "Aunt" Margaret toda
Prator Lake from the deck outside my room
John Holhut, this is for you, more tomorrow.
Think it's time to bring in Fall decorations and replace them with Christmas!
I had a wonderful visit with longtime friends Kathe and Mike Thomas and their sweet little Maui last night. So glad that they are on their way to a warmer climate!
My decor is more appropriate to the snow today, although we're only supposed to get flurries--but then very cold!
It's hot here too but pretty!
I had a visit from the Grayslake Macks today on their way to Edwardsville. We went to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. It's still an awesome place.
In 2009, my nephew Dave and I played at the Willow Folk Festival in Stockton, IL, an annual August event. It was really special--Dave passed away a couple years later. I sure miss him.
