Peggy's Story
Going back in time to 1981--hate that I missed the reunion last year, sad, cause I was local and could of come. But I didn't know about it cause I keep to myself, sorta like I did in high school. The quiet girl with dark brown hair (sometimes still wet from my morning shower) and a handful of friends. Most of them are not even registered here. Angela Lee, Donna McVaugh, Kathleen Crandell to name a few; would love to find them if anyone knows how!
Well, a lot has happened since my alma mater days. I have been happily married for 19 years. I married my childhood church sweetheart. Got it right the second time around. We have four wonderful boys and although the first two aren't biologically his, he loves them as if they are. They are both serving in the Army, HOOAH. The oldest is in Iraq and the second oldest is in Washington State--I say BRRR to both, being raised in the south!! My second son is married, and has a child on the way--due in August. My third son is attending the Army National Guard Youth Challenge Program--he didn't want to wait to graduate, so he will get his diploma a year earlier and is thinking of joining the Air Force when he turns 18 in September. Our youngest is in the 7th grade and he too, hates school. We are thinking of going on the road and homeschooling him--we shall see! My husband is part of a family owned business that erects steel buildings and that keeps him...Expand for more
busy when the work is steady, but the economy has hit hard in the construction business.
Now about me. . . I have come a long way since 1981. I went to PRJC right after high school and got a data processing degree that I never used--didn't like it! Then I worked at different places until I remarried in 1989. We lived in Henleyfield until 1998, then lived in Hattiesburg for 6 months and then moved to Hatley {it's in MS} at the end of 1998. I was then a stay at home mom (except for waitressing at a friends restuarant} until my baby started kindergarten. I started back to school too. I received an Associates degress in nursing in 2003. My dad passes away in 2001 and never got to see my dream come true. Anyways, I worked in Tupelo until the end of 2005; we moved back home after Katrina as Shayne was having to help his dad. I didn't like the pay they were offering, so I became a travel nurse. Most of my assignments have been pretty close to home. But I spent 13 weeks in New Mexico and really enjoyed it. I worked 28 weeks in Georgia, were I worked for 6 days and then went home on my days off--it was nice to do and I made a lot of friends there. I am now in Texas, just starting a 13 week assignment. My plans are to take an assignment in Washington State in August so I will be near when my grandbaby is born. Well that brings me to today, I will continue this with updates on my next trip . . .
