Peggy's Story
To condense my life since graduation, Fred Hoover and I married in Oct '66, but I lost him after 42 years of marriage in Oct '08 from complications of heart disease and diabetes. I raised two children, but lost my son, Freddy, in a motorcycle accident in Sep `05. I have four grandchildren, but only get to see John and Jacob on a regular basis. The part of the Army I worked for got hit by the BRAC. It was either move to Ft. Knox, KY with them or retire. That was a no-brainer, so in Oct '10 I retired from the working world. in Nanjemoy, MD (Charles County) and horses are still my main love in life. It takes a lot to keep this place running, and if it wasn't for my awesome daughter, Paige, and her family I wouldn't be able to do it the way it needs to be taken care of. I love retirement, but hate the decrease in salary. I guess we can't have everything. In Oct 2016 our Class of '66 held its 50th class reunion at the Westin Hotel in Oxon Hill.. We followed that up with a much smaller scale gathering in July 2017 at the Port Tobacco Marina in Port Tobacco, MD. I hope these special gatherings can become an annual event.
