Peggy's Story
Life
My Spouse
Met husband Al as a blind date at college (Central Washington State College, now Central Washington University, 1969). We live in Las Vegas, but spend the summers in Oregon, planning to relocate to Washington again. We have three children who have given us two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Oldest son Cory, married, he at his wife, Cheryl,work at NAU.
Middle son, Adam, graduated from U of San Francisco in Environmental Science, was in Peace Corps in El Salvador, taught in AZ, now married to Precious, living and teaching in Portland, OR, one daughter Emi

My Job
I was a high school librarian at Las Vegas High School, with 3,300 students. The library is computerized. We use databases, internet, and of course books, for research. I worked with teachers on curriculum, and with kids on developing research skills. I also...Expand for more
worked in the reference department of Community College of Southern Nevada. I am now retired, but still sub in libraries.
School
I guess I liked the friends I made in high school better than anything else. I feel as though I was well prepared for college even though Bethel was a small high school. I hope someone is putting together our 50th reunion. Unless we are back in Washington soon, I am too far away to be much help, but really would love to attend.
Workplace
I started out as an elementary classroom teacher. I taught everything from K-8, but mostly 2nd grade. I have been an elementary librarian, a middle school librarian, and was a high school librarian for 13 years before I retired. I worked as a part-time reference librarian at the Community College of Southern Nevada for 8 years.
I love being a librarian and being with kids. That's why I still sub. I have become adept at cleaning up online catalogs, and have cataloged several special libraries in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas.
