Peggy's Story
Life
Hey, old friends and fellow nostalgia-seekers,
Here's the short version on life since graduation: I went to BYU for one year, decided it was not for me, came home and worked a year at ASU while going to school part-time, then took a few classes at MCC the following year, (working my way backwards!) then dropped out to join a band, married the drummer, had 6 kids, moved all over the country, got divorced in 2006 after 23 years, and have landed back in the South Tempe/Chandler area.
I am back in college full-time, where I am working toward a degree in English/Secondary Education. I am kind of under the gun to graduate and be self-supporting before the alimony runs out. Which happens WAY too soon.
Of course my REAL plan is to write a highly cynical, yet wickedly funny, best-selling novel that has no resemblance whatsoever to my own life. Complete with screenplay. And theme song.
I have also set a goal to WALK a marathon. (which one I actually commit to is yet to be determined!) I'll get to the running thing when I have dropped about HALF of my body weight. Which I openly blame on that multiple pregnancy-oppressive marriage-painful divorce thing. (the word f...Expand for more
or the day is "accountability"...)
My kids (4 boys, 2 girls) are young adults and teenagers now, except for my youngest, who is 11. 3 of them still live with me. As well as a large percentage of their friends, at any given time. My house looks like a college dorm. Only without that "education" factor... If I can just keep them all breathing and out of jail, I think I'm doing alright.
My oldest daughter is married and produced the first grandchild on April Fool's Day of 2008. (Wow) She is a photographer and a fantastic mom. At least half of my children believe they will be rock stars, and are probably right, and they all have creative talents that I can't wait to see the fruits of! The general consensus seems to be that their futures as professional Halo players is locked in. (Yep, I trained them to dream big..) I love them all madly, they are my favorite and most challenging part of life.
I love occasionally running into people I used to know, (here or in the real world) and would enjoy hearing from anyone who remembers me. You know, because I have mostly forgotten who I am, due to kids, lost brain cells, etc... If you're local, let's do lunch.
Later, Peg~
