Penny's Story
Hi gang--here's the scoop since we have seen each other in 1964. I graduated from UNC-G in January 1968 with a degree in English Lit. Left immediately for a two year stint in the Peace Corps in Thailand--teaching English Lit and writing to English majors in a teacher's training college in Songkhla, Thailand.
Came back to the states in 1970 and began a career with the Girl Scouts of the USA. Lived in Greenville, SC and still do, for my entire career--and just retired in March after 38 years of heading up the Girl Scouts in the Upstate and midlands of South Carolina. a perfect fit for me.
Now I am playing alot more golf and enjoying a life of no meetings and boards of directors. I am planning a three week trip back to Thailand in November and will skip over to Cambodia while I am there.
I have traveled alot in my life--love to see new places--and still have quite a list of stops to make before "kicking the bucket." I am a big music fan--play a couple of instruments-read alot- and generally just enjoy life as it is thrown at me. I have had a good life and am grateful for it.
