Penny's Story
My last 25+ years in a BIG nutshell...
After graduation went to NAU in Flagstaff for 5 years and graduated with a Bachelor's in Business. Began working for the Federal Government, Bureau of Land Management where I've been now for 26 years working in fire, budget and recreation - no journalism for me! First marriage in 1987 to Gary Foreman and moved to Yuma for 4 years. Divorced in 1992 and I moved back to Phoenix; he went to Alaska where he stil is. Remarried in 1995 to Chris Horyza (I kept Gary's last name for convenience) and we've been married for 13 years now and going strong. No kids of my own but raised a step-son CJ who's now 22, and am raising my brother Joe Perry's boy, Anthony, who is now 17 and a senior at Deer Valley High School. My boys are band geeks (marching, jazz and drumline) playing trumpet and drums so I belong to the Deer Valley band boosters and go to all the football games. Moved to the Legends of Arrowhead area in 2005 and love it. My husband and I entertain alot with poker and pool parties and Oktoberfest and Cinco de Mayo celebrations. We love sports and are Cardinals season ticket holders, and get to DBacks games when we can. Also attend many college and bowl games. Go ASU, NAU and WVU!! Dearly love European soccer too, Real Madrid and Manchester United. Ruud Van Nistelrooy ...Expand for more
is my fav, not Beckham! (altho he's ok) Still love my rock concerts and go ALOT, my hearing isn't what it used to be from standing too close to those speakers! We also follow state and regional bands, Mogollon and Red Elvises. Our passion is to travel and go as often as we can while we still have our health. Love Europe and touring the German castles, old cathedrals, Roman ruins, the Tuscany region, the Alps, Oktoberfest and Holland. Also enjoy exploring the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Pennisula and sail to various islands on our friend's large catamaran. Greece is the next big trip in May. Also travel the USA too and spend time in Colorado and back east in the Virginias and Ohio where I have relatives and love to dive into geneaology research. Also get to any Civil War battlefield I can or other historical places (thanks Mr. Griffith!). On my down time I belong to my neighborhood book club so read a variety of books and love to putz around my yard planting flowers and gardening and trying to organize my zillion photos! Wow, just writing this makes me realize why I'm exhausted all the time! So that's my life and it is busy but good and I cherish every day. I hope all of you are doing as well and would love to hear from you! So send me a line at pforeman1 at cox.net!! Hope to see you at the next reunion!
