Penny's Story
Life
I coached volleyball and softball at the college level for 16 years. I gave up coaching last year and currently work for Schutt Sports as the West Region Promotions Rep. I travel all over the country.
I have had really succesful teams and now not so successful. I have worked all over the country doing camps and coaches clinincs. The best years of my life were spent in California and the worst ones Alamosa, Co. I had a historectomy and have no kids. My harmones have been out of control since I have been in Colorado and now I
feel like the person I use to be and no more periods.... yip yeah. I am very happy this year and have some really exciting opportunities opening in my career and plan to move on next year but continue working in the softball field. That is about all my life is about right now, but I'm really enjoying it.
College
I was offered a scholarship to play softball at Emporia state; however my mom wanted me to go to bible college.
So I thought I would move back to colorado and go to BBC west. It was very small and I...Expand for more
wasn't happy, So I transfered to BBC in MO, I played volleyball and club softball there and
coach H.S. basketball at Baptist Temple. I then was offerd a coaching job in Shreveport LA at Baptist Christian college. It was not a very fun experience and so I decided to move closer to home and play softball for friends University. After 6 years I went to ohio to continue my ed. at Ashland Univ. Were I got my Masters in sports Science. I am done with school now forever...LOL
Workplace
I started working in college at Engelwood baptist church and also worked for Silver State Youth Camp. I then transfered to MO. and I worked at Sunshine health club. While in school at friends university in KS. I worked at montgomery wards, and at the post office. I then taught 1 year at Derby highschool and substitue taught at several of the schools in wichita, haysville, clearwater, and valley center. After that I went to coach volleyball and softball at Neosho county. Then you can follow my coaching career to present by looking at the colleges I have been at.
