Ken's Story
LIFE:
Raised in Castanea PA, left Lock Haven area in 1960 after high school & went into US Navy; after USN went to WACC & Penn State; worked at Piper Aircraft Corp then Bell Telephone; played in local bands around the region, worked as Deputy Sheriff for Clinton County & Corrections Officer for a while, lived in Castanea, Mill Hall, Altoona, Valley Forge, Vienna VA, Bridgeport, and Jeffersonville; retired from Bell Atlantic/Verizon in 1992 as Claims Manager after 28 years service; then retired again from Harleysville Insurance in 2004 as Supervisor of Medical Management Services after 12 years service. Operated KenPoorman.com, LLC and developed websites for professionals and small businesses in the Philadelphia area. Went to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 2008 and was employed by them until 2013 as Sr. Compliance Auditor. Remarried & raising two granddaughters. Active in Catholic Church & Knights of Columbus.
