Donna's Story

Well, I've always been an active person. I started working when I was 16 at Ft. Leonard Wood, then went to Secretarial school after graduation, and have been a secretary all of my life. Started with General Motors, then graduated to working for an Attorney. Spent 28 years with one attorney. I still work full time as a legal secretary. I have always loved animals and have lots of them, dogs, cats, birds, and I have a farm where I breed, raise and train Arabian show horses, along with my daughter, and 2 grandaughters, who do most of the work now with the horses. I'm very active, do lots of walking, and don't like to sit around with nothing to do. We do a lot of horse shows of course, and my daughter travels all over the southeast US doing freeze branding on horses. She also works with me at my office all week and travels on weekends to do the branding. I am blessed with good health, am very active in my church, teach a class there, and try to obey the Lord's commandments. I had 2 children, and adopted 3 more that were grandchildren of my husband Jack Haynie. M...Expand for more
y oldest son, Michael Groves, died about 6 years ago and was buried at Brays Church cemetery near Iberia. I have 9 grandchildren, ranging from 21 down to 5. All my children live close around me, and my daughter who is Donna also, lives here on the farm, she has her own home near our barn as she is the most active with the horses. My 21 year old grandaughter teaches riding, participates in cross country eventing with the tall horses and the big jumps over water etc, and runs a summer camp for kids that love horses where they can come and learn to ride safely. So a lot of my life centers around horses and horse activities. I would be interested in hearing from any of you that want to email. I spend a lot of time on the computer altho I am not an expert, but my daughter is. She also does websites for businesses and people who want one. We have a website for the farm, Century Oak Arabians. She also sets up horse shows and manages them so she is a busy girl. God bless all of you, look forward to hearing from you. Iberia was a great school and I had a ball there.
