Percy's Story
Life
Living in Oakland, CA since high school. Attended U.C. Berkeley from 1974 to 1978 on an Army ROTC scholarship. Dropped out of U.C. in January 1978 after some second thoughts about being an Army officer as required by the ROTC contract. Married in 1980, divorced in 1992. Two daughters, ages 18 and 15 (in 2002), who are doing great in school (Skyline High in Oakland). The older one will be entering U.C.Berkeley in the summer of 2002. They are my pride and joy. School
The days of glory in the past,
where we learned to live so fast.
It was what they call High School;
where we tried to play it cool.
But often acted as the fool.
Fun was mine in subjects I learned.
But lovers of me I really had spurned.
Time I had to run and study.
Very few I called my truest buddy.
A worthy future I gave all to invest,
lest I fall into a worthless sin-fest.
My balance was weighted towards work.
But now my friends I do not shirk.
As now they ask for lovely favors,
true friendship is what one savors.
