Peter's Story
Well, where to begin...
First, for those who've signed my guestbook, my sincerest apologies. I have not paid for the "Gold" membership, so I don't have access to it. They keep telling me that people have signed it though, so thanks. :-)
After high school I did not join the Air Force with my friend Mike Wistock and instead started working on an Associate in Science degree in Electronics from Cuyamaca College and running cross country.
During this time I hooked back up with some friends from junior high and scouting and did a lot of hiking, rock climbing, surfing (a lot of surfing) and a little mountain biking.
Once I completed my A.S., I transfered to San Diego State University and pursued my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and the aforementioned surfing, rock climbing, etc.
During this time I also started dating the beautiful girl who later became my wife, Debbie.
After completing my degree, I went to work for Cubic Defense Systems on the Joint Readiness Training Program. A little over a year later, some friends still at SAIC invited me back (worked the...Expand for more
re in college) and since I have worked on various projects including multi-user virtual environments, remote vehicle proof of concept, a "white pages" for the Navy (like a yellow pages, but different) and even a stint working with the Joint Program Manager for Information Systems, an area of the government that is in charge of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear warning and reporting for all branches of the military and civilians.
I've done a little traveling both professionally and personally. Been to Germany and Spain as well as various places in Mexico and the United States. Never found a place I liked better than San Diego thogh.
Currently, I am working (for SAIC) with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency on the Integrated Weapons of Mass Destruction Toolset. Unlike the name, it is also CBRN defense and prediction.
As I mentioned, I was lucky and found my wife, Debbie, to whom I have been married almost eleven years. We have two children, Joshua and Jaina.
Yes, I still like Star Wars (in particular) and science fiction (in general) as well as fantasy.
