Peter's Story

I worked for the Township of East Brunswick for 30 years, retiring in 2010. I started college (Rutgers) at 32, and earned a BA in History at 39. Seven long years of night school while working full time. It wasn't easy, but I enjoyed it. Aside from 12 years in Princeton, I've always lived in EB. I'm still involved with cars as a hobby, going back to when I started with it in 1972, when I was at 16. Currently I have two old sports cars, one English, one Japanese. And I like to read - history and biographies mainly - and to go fresh water fishing,...Expand for more
too. Anyone who left EB after high school and hasn't been back would barely recognize the town. The woods, farms, and open spaces from 50 years ago are nearly all gone, replaced by various forms of housing and many shopping centers. And in the past couple of years, there has been talk of building a new high school in what was the old peach orchard when we were at EBHS, and which is now soccer fields and tennis courts, and then demolishing the old school. So even the old EBHS may join the list of things in EB that once were but no longer are.
