Life
After highschool I went to college, joined the Army, got married to Tracyene Trujillo, went back to college, gradgitated with degrees in Microbiology and Philosophy, had two children (Genevieve and Dylan), worked as a molecular biologist studying human genetic diseases (my claim to fame was cloning the human airway Mucin gene- the active ingredient in snot!), went back to colle...Expand for more
ge to Pile it Higher and Deeper (got my PhD) in the field of molecular viral immunopathogenesis of the central nervous system, did some Postdoctoral work (Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the University of North Carolina), and am now a faculty member in the School of Medicine at UNC. I study cardiovascular pathobiology using the tools of functional genomics and systems biology.
