Peter's Story
After high school, I attended the University of Virginia, graduating with a degree in mathematics and economics. I subsequently entered graduate school at Caltech in Pasadena, CA, where I earned my masters degree in economics. After spending several years as a management consultant with Booz-Allen & Hamilton in Los Angeles, I returned to graduate school at Caltech where I completed my Ph.D. in economics in 1998.
For the past 10 years, I have been a business professor, spending six years on the faculty at the Harvard Business School and four years at the Naval Postgraduate School. I teach ...Expand for more
graduate MBA and executive education classes in the areas of businesss strategy and managerial economics, although I spend most of my time conducting academic research in those subject areas.
My wife, Lina, is one of only 97 female Majors in the U.S. Marine Corps. She was also a company commander in Iraq and, as you can tell, I am incredibly proud of her. She recently took command of the finance office at Quantico, VA, so I am back living in Virginia for the first time in almost 16 years.
My greatest source of pride, however, is my two amazing children: Marshall, age 5, and Isabel, age 2.
