Peter's Story
Life
Following high school, graduated from Oswego State with degrees in Computer Science and History. Graduated University of Buffalo with Masters in Military History. Currently working at IBM in Sacramento, CA as a Project Manager supporting international accounts. Married with two kids - one boy, one girl.
School
In high school I was a total geek. Glasses, fake tooth - two years behind everyone else in age - utterly sucked. I played D&D during high school, and I continue that today! I finally started growing at the end of my senior year.
College
College was my turning point. I grew and filled out (started at 5'11 and 160 lbs, ended at 6'3 and 210 lbs!) I pledged my fraternity (a local called Sigma Gamma) so that I could drink - being only 16 when I started school. My parents divorced my sophomore year - and I moved off campus back home with my mother for my last two years. es! I also wore my contacts more, spiked my hair and took Judo - becoming a 2nd degree brown belt before going to Grad School in Buffalo.
In Buffalo, I was dating my first serious girlfriend (Tracie) working part-time and going to grad school for History. I should have kept in touch with some of those folks from that time - the only one I know of now is my roommate, Mark (Satch).
Workplace
I worked for a couple of years as a retail manager - for Brookstone, Natural Wonders, Linens N Things and Burlington Coat Factory. I quit my job in 96 at Thanksgiving in order to travel to Bogota, Columbia for Thanksgiving with my two friends. While I was there, I got a call from IBM wanting me to interview. I flew back on Sunday, flew to Charlotte on Monday, interviewed on Tuesday and got hired on Thursday. I started with them in 97 and have been there ever since.
Met my wife at an account in Fort Wayne, IN. She was there for 2 weeks, I was there for 19 months!
It took us 4 years, but we got together.
