Peter's Story
**Update - I'm still in Dallas, still married, my father passed away. My place of work went away after 39 years in business :'-(. Now I am out on my own. My website is: petermarince.com. I also have a business page on Facebook.
Life
Life bio, eh?
ah...DHS...good memories. God, that Senior picture of me is quite bad. Don't stare at it too long - you'll turn to stone...
Well, life up to now as been pretty good. I've been happily married to my wife, Liz, for 12 yrs. now - no kids (not that there's anything wrong with them). I have a good/fun job, own a house, have some pets. My parents and brothers are all still alive. The Q&A section of the program covers most of it. Get the most out of every day.
20th reunion was surreal. Great to see everyone.
Deerfield has changed quite a bit - guess you really can't go home again. Felt like a stranger in a strange land.
School
School crushes? I'm not telling - hehe.
There were a few teachers that were inspiring. Guess I need to pull out the old O*YADs and get some names. Mr. Crouch was one of them. Tough guy, but I learned a lot. Mr. Fabry ...Expand for more
was another great teacher. Then there was Mr. Stupple. His classes started me on the path to where I am today - thanks Mr. Stupple.
Ah, and then there were the parties...good times...
College
ETSU - not much to say. It was out in BFE East Texas. Not much to do but drink/party and school work. Dallas was kinda near by, so we went there from time to time. I did like small town life, and I did meet my wife there. I got out in '89 with as BS in photography, then moved to Dallas.
Workplace
My work life looks fairly boring on paper/screen. I moved to Dallas after graduation from ETSU and began free-lance photo assisting. After a year of that, I got a full-time job assisting at a photo studio (Greg Booth + Associates). Later, I was promoted to photographer, and I've been here ever since.
This (2005) is my 15th year with the company. I really like my job. Good co-workers, good clients, great boss. I couldn't ask for much more. I feel very fortunate to be in my position. I feel very lucky to actually be using my college degree - I know many who aren't.
There you have it.
